Whether it’s business, fishing, golfing, walking, bird watching or simply relaxing Hebrides House Accommodation is a great base to have in the South end of the Outer Hebrides. We are a short distance from the beautiful sandy beaches of Benbecula and overlook moor land and the hills of North and South Uist. We are central to explore the Uists, Berneray and also for day trips to Barra and Harris. We are within easy access to the airport and other local amenities, 30 minutes drive from the ferry terminals of Lochmaddy and Lochboisdale.
Beaches
The beaches are made of white sand and turquoise water. It is not unusual to be the only ones on a 2km white sandy beach here in the middle of summer!
Bird watching and wildlife
There is an abundance of wildlife on the island including, corncrakes, hen harriers, sea eagles, short eared owls, whooper swans, red deer, sea otters, harbour porpoises, grey seals, common seals. Boat trips to see basking sharks, pilot whales, dolphins and killer whales can be arranged.

Balranald Reserve has sandy beaches, rocky foreshore, marshes and sand dunes. An information centre explains the importance of traditional crofting agriculture for corncrakes and other wildlife. Many wading and farmland birds nest on the flower-rich machair and croft-land. www.rspb.org.uk/Balranald
Walking & Cycling
The beauty of a walking holiday in the Hebrides is the variety of walks available right there on your doorstep, in one of the last true wilderness areas left in the UK today. Relish the spectular scenery South Uist has to offer in perfect peace and transquility.

Horse Riding
Uist Community Riding School is situated at the Stables in Balivanich and here you can experience the beauty of the Western Isles on one of the well schooled horses. The Riding School caters for all ages and abilities and offers a wide variety of all weather activities throughout the year including, Beach Rides, Riding Lessons, Hacks, Pony Rides.
